Hardwood floors are marvelous for any household because of their aesthetic and durability. These floors will last as long as your house. However, improper installation among other things can make it high-maintenance. Here are some examples of possible troubles with wooden floors.

Sometimes, contractors leave barely noticeable gaps between wooden panels. Months or years after installation, panels could give slight movements upon being stepped on. This is also most noticeable during dry seasons, as floor boards tend to hold tightly to one another during humid seasons.
Cupping occurs when the bottom of the wooden panel is wetter than the top. The result is an awkward curving of the panel. While some cases of cupping can be resolved after correcting moisture issues, some might be deformed permanently.
Wooden floors are also prone to staining. When stains penetrate the wooden fibers, the only way to clean them is by sanding them altogether. Cleaning stains with bleach would not be a good idea since bleach breaks down these wooden fibers and can cause denting.
Wooden floors exposed to sunlight can also have faded colors overtime. This could result in a noticeable difference between panels frequently hit by the sunlight and those that aren’t.
